How to use ‘Food Exchange System’ - Meal Plan Example

  • Assess typical food intake, and calculate the necessary amount.
  • Plan a single day's meals based on treatment goals
  • Determine the exchange units from each food group.
  • The number of units is distributed based on meals.
  • Using the food exchange system, foods were selected.
  • Calculate the actual amount of food ingested.
